  • The Race for Racial Understanding

On Wednesday, January 26 at 6pm the Center is partnering with The Home Depot and The Trumpet Awards Foundation to have an open discussion about the state of race in America  called The Race for Racial Understanding with some really incredible panelists who represent education, the law, entertainment, healthcare and other fields relevant to the discussion.  Dr. Joy DeGruy will provide an opening and Dr. Julianne Malveuax will moderate the discussion.

There will be a powerful exchange of ideas across experiences to witness, but the event really depends on a great turn out from diverse local folks who have questions about how we’re doing with race in America.  To that end, we have made this event free, open to the public and not required an rsvp.  You literally just need to bring yourself to the Hyatt in Downtown Atlanta, listen and share your thoughts.

Supporting this event supports the Center, which we certainly appreciate, but it also affirms The Home Depot’s effort to sponsor conversations about civil and human rights as part of a vibrant community discourse, and The Trumpet Awards Foundation for extending their programming using their power as a convener around race and justice in Atlanta and beyond.

All are welcome and I hope you will come.
