Submit Your Suggestions for Films That Matter 2011
We’re in the process of planning Films That Matter 2011 and want your feedback. The goal is to provide a free, four-week film festival in Atlanta that presents mainstream movies with civil and human rights messages. We try to strike the right balance between examining the issues and providing a fun summer evening. As an organization building community support we need to make choices that have broad appeal so we attract lots of new friends to our work. Each week of Films That Matter highlights an aspect of our work and gives the community an idea of the types of programming and events to expect from the Center when it is complete. In 2010, we screened Invictus, Milk, Hotel Rwanda and The Secret Life of Bees to large, supportive audiences. This year we want to grow. What films would you like to see in the series this year? Any particular film suggestions that would be great for kids? Share your feedback in the comments and stay tuned for an announcement of the line up and dates in the coming months.
