WELCOME!

The is the first of what will be a weekly (sometimes a bit more) blog giving you and inside look to the development of the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Georiga.  Let's get started by covering the basics-

Who?  The blog comes directly from me, Doug Shipman, the Executive Director of the effort to build the Center for Civil and Human Rights. 

What?  The blog is a chance for us to give everyone a behind the scenes look at the activities, people and ideas that are driving the development of the Center.  We'll post clips from speeches, conversations, gatherings and other events including podcasts, video, pictures and links to a variety of the activiites that are happening.  As you might imagine-- there is lots ot talk about and we want to share.

Why? There is a typical aspect I suppose-- the ability to post in a multimedia format items about our efforts.  More than the typical- we want to hear your voice, your comments, gather reader and supporter ideas for how we can build a Center that will thrive and move people. 

So read, enjoy, think and share your ideas and hopes for the Center (and for improving the blog-- I'm sure early on we'll have lots of room to improve).  I'm looking forward to making our blog a two way effort-
