Prior to opening; the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will collaborate with area institutions and organizations in the delivery of exhibits and programming related to the struggle for civil and human rights and equality. Freedom's SISTERS




Honoring the Legacy of African American Women

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is partnering with the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum to present Freedom's SISTERS, a celebration of the lives of twenty African-American rights leaders. 

The exhibition is located at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum and runs July 24-October 3. 

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Children and visitors who are 16 and under are free.

Essay Contest
Students in 4th-8th grades are eligible to participate in the Freedom's SISTERS essay contest.  The topic is "Who is your favorite Freedom Sister and why?".  The submission deadline is August 30, 2010.

Prizes
1st Place: $5,000 Savings Bond
2nd Place: $2,500 Savings Bond
3rd Place: $1,000 Savings Bond
1st, 2nd, 3rd Runners-up: $500 Savings Bond each
